"Marilyn Monroe, Red Velvet Collection, Pose #2". 1949/printed later. Digital light jet print flush-mounted to aluminum. 70,5 x 55 cm. Signed and editioned 155/300 by Tom Kelley Jr. in silver marker in lower corners; Certificate of Authenticity with print data affixed to mount verso. Tom Kelley Sr. photographed Hollywood celebrities throughout the 1940s and 1950s. David O. Selznick and Samuel Goldwyn retained Tom to take promotional photos of their stars and starlets for magazine covers and advertising. A few of his most famous subjects were Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo James Cagney, Clark Gable, Winston Churchill Bob Hope, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford Jack Benny, John F. Kennedy, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Franklin D. Roosevelt and, of course, Marilyn Monroe This image is from the legendary series that brought fame to the young starlet Norma Jean Baker, who later became Marilyn Monroe It was originally shot for a pinup calendar. – A few small indentation spots in upper right, otherwise in excellent condition.
