Full green Art Nouveau morocco by The Harcourt Bindery, front and rear covers with a design of irises in vari-colored onlays, the spine with raised bands enclosing a single tulip, full scarlet leather doublures with a single iris, surrounded by a purple band, green dentelles, scarlet leather endsheets; housed in the original latched leather case. 9 1/2 inches (24 cm); 12 ff., 161 pp., with hand-drawn title and other decorations, two original pen and ink drawings by John Sloan (at pages 28 and 93), as well as two signed original etchings and a photo-etching after an original drawing by the artist. About fine. Ten sets of a hundred volumes apiece were to have been produced, but the project was aborted. While very rarely runs of forty or more volumes have appeared at auction (one in these rooms in 2000), more commonly the Bibliomaniac Edition appears on the market as separate volumes, and even these have become rare. Those with original drawings by Sloan are the most desirable.
