.30-40 Krag. 22" barrel length. SN: 176104. Manufactured circa 1899. Blued finish, modified walnut stock. Krag "Carbine" made by cutting down a Model 1898 Rifle. Standard 1898 model receiver markings, script Joseph S. Adams "JSA/1903" dated cartouche on reverse wrist with "{Circle-P}" behind triggerguard. 1898 Rifle rear sight, ersatz front sight attached with a band around the barrel. Added barrel band with sling swivel, with rifle swivel in toe. Condition: Good. Retains some blue with thinning and loss, markings in metal clear, good in wood as well. Mechanically functional, dark and dirty bore with visible rifling. Modified rifle stock good with scattered bumps, dings and mars and a poorly formed forend tip.
