Munich: for the author, 1828-[1831] FIRST EDITION, 7 ORIGINAL PARTS, large folio (570 x 422mm.), text leaf in each part, 28 lithographed plates (two supplied from another copy), UNCUT, printed notice accounting for the delay in the publication of the final part loosely inserted in part 6, engraved map of Athens and surrounds printed on inside lower wrapper of part 7, ORIGINAL PRINTED PALE BLUE WRAPPERS, housed in modern vellum-backed portfolio, supplied lithographs remargined with small repairs, occasional spotting, slight wear to edges A FINE COLLECTION OF PORTRAITS OF HEROES FROM THE GREEK WAR OF INDEPENDENCE. "Krazeisen accompanied [Carl Wilhelm] von Heideck and the Bavarian philhellenes to Greece in 1826 as first lieutenant. He was an amateur artist who made drawings throughout his stay in Greece, which included periods in Nauplion, Poros, Damilas, Zakinthos and Athens. His original drawings are now in possession of the National Gallery, Athens" (Blackmer).
