When he relocated to California during the war, he continued selling Augustus's work in the US and a good number ended up with his daughter, the renowned actress, Elizabeth Taylor. The present drawing was one of a number of works to be sold as part of her collection at Christie's in 2012. We are grateful to Rebecca John for her kind assistance in cataloguing this lot.
