Prima e non comune edizione di questa opera di La Lande (1732-1807), al tempo tra i più apprezzati studiosi della meccanica celeste, direttore dell'Osservatorio di Parigi, e membro delle più importanti accademie scientifiche europee. All'astronomo francese spetta un posto di rilievo anche nella divulgazione scientifica, e ancora di grande utilità è la sua Bibliographie astronomique, apparsa a Parigi nel 1803. In questa bibliografia è compresa anche la menzione di questa opera, in cui - come scrive lo stesso La Lande - "Je renfermai [...] les explications des calculs annuéls de la Connoissance des temps, les formules dont les astronomes ont besoin, les tables de soleil, et quelques autres tables usuelles" (Bibliographie astronomique, p. 481). 12° (173x115 mm). The first and scarce edition of this work by La Lande (1732-1807), director of the Observatory in Paris, and member of the most important European scientific academies. He devoted himself to devoted himself to the improvement of planetary theory, and compiled one of the first astronomical bibliography, the Bibliographie astronomique, which represents still a remarkable resource for the historians of the discipline. In his Bibliographie La Lande also lists the Exposition du calcul astronomique, in which "Je renfermai [...] les explications des calculs annuéls de la Connoissance des temps, les formules dont les astronomes ont besoin, les tables de soleil, et quelques autres tables usuelles" (Bibliographie astronomique, p. 481).
