Rare, pre-publication edition of forty-one lectures delivered between September 14, 1943 and March 2, 1944 by various scientists developing the atomic bomb. The lectures were delivered in six series: Terminology, Radioactivity, Neutron Physics, Two-Body Problem, The Statistical Theory of Nuclear Reactions, and Diffusion Theory. Among the lecturers were numerous future Nobel Prize winners, including Edwin M. McMillan, Emilio Segre, Felix Bloch, Robert F. Christy (a student of Robert Oppenheimer's), and Edward Teller ("the father of the hydrogen bomb"). A regular edition was published by the Government Printing Office in 1947. Only 3 other copies have appeared at auction since 2002, none before. Handwritten labels on the front reading "Nuclear Physics, 1946." and "J.H. Irving Grad. Col. Princeton, N.J.".
