The catalogue of the Lamoignon library, begun by Guillaume I de Lamoignon (1617-1677) and continued by several generations of the family. It was greatly enhanced by the addition of Nicolas-René Berryer's library, which the family acquired through inheritance. Consisting of autographs, manuscripts, fine bindings, prints, and maps, the library was acquired en bloc by Thomas Payne who issued the priced catalogue included in the present lot.
