Late 19th-century polished speckled calf, gilt double filet, spine gilt, gilt turn-ins, citron edges (spine slightly rubbed). FIRST EDITION. Langley was a trained gardener, like his father, but little is known about his work in this profession. In all he published three books on gardening, the above title, New Principles of Gardening (1728) and Pomona (1729). Harris 470; RIBA 1756.
