Santa Barbara: privately printed, 1962. 2 o. 14 fine photographic facsimiles on 12 sheets. Original plain green wrappers, sewn as issued, uncut. LIMITED EDITION, one of only fifty copies, with type hand-set by Lansburgh and printed on handmade paper. A rare catalogue of a little-known collection of early manuscripts and leaves. PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Lansburgh at end: "For Bernard H. Breslauer. with warm regards- Mark Lansburgh London.X.1962." [ With :] LANSBURGH. "Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts and Graphic Arts at the Colorado College," in: Colorado College Magazine , Vol. II, No. 3, Summer, 1967. -- LANSBURGH. "The Illuminated Manuscript Collection at Colorado College, in: Art Journal , Vol. XXVIII, no. 1, Fall 1968. Together two offprints bound in one, 4 o. Green cloth, original wrappers bound in. These publications are bound with a holder containing twenty slides from ten of the manuscripts discussed in the articles. "Each manuscript was selected for its association with a manuscript of one of the libraries visited and acknowledged in the introduction of this compilation [accompanying text]." Among the slides is a Florentine Gradual leaf with historiated initial A, painted by Francesco d'Antonio del Cherico which was later obtained by Breslauer for his collection of illuminated leaves. PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Lansburgh on the introduction page: "Bernard Breslauer - In atonement, but nevertheless, with affection Mark Lansburgh V.1972."
