Beschreibung:

Large Limited Edition Muhammad Ali Signed Photograph by Neil Leifer This photo features one of the most famous scenes in the history of sports. Despite defeating Sonny Liston in Miami in 1964 and becoming champion for the first time, Muhammad Ali was still given little respect by the boxing establishment. He was ridiculed upon joining the Nation of Islam and changing his name from Cassius Clay. In the rematch held on May 25th, 1965, Ali would leave little doubt even amongst his harshest critics as to who was “The Greatest!” Within one minute, Ali knocked out the former champ, and retained his title. This image of that historic moment was captured by the lens of Neil Leifer. Leifer is among the most heralded sports photographers of the modern era, his work having appeared on more than 200 Sports Illustrated, Time and People magazine covers, the most covers ever published of one photographer's work in Time, Inc. history. He has photographed his favorite subject, Muhammad Ali, on almost 60 different occasions in addition more than 20 private photo sessions with the champ. This unusually large color photo is numbered (78/350) as part of a limited edition produced by Leifer. Ali has signed the lower margin in ink at the center while Leifer’s signature appears to the right. The visible image area measures 20” by 21”. Framed to an overall size of 33” by 34”. LOAs from PSA/DNA and JSA.
