Autograph album containing signatures of notable 19th-early 20th century figures, incl. Herbert Wells Fay, Edith K. Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bess Truman, Grace Coolidge, Edith Bolling Wilson, Lucretia Garfield, Frances Cleveland, Richard Nixon, Adlai Stevenson, Carl Sandburg and more, combined with few loose signatures - including another Adlai Stevenson clipped signature, Edgar Guest (poet), Fredric B. Irvin, Billy Sunday (one SP and one RPP), copy photos, other imprints collected by the previous owner. One of the autographs is on the back of a business card for "F.W. Boyer, Collector of Lincolniana / Coins, Stamps, Antiques, Autographs / U.S. Presidents." There are also letters addressed to Rev. F.W. Boyer. Many entries in the autograph book include Lincoln quotes, written by the people who signed the book. A number of the signers are authors of books about Lincoln or other aspects of the war and heads of Lincoln associations (Lincoln Library, Lincoln Fellowship, a couple of Lincoln bookstores, Lincoln Memorial University, Librarians of Congress, etc.). Among the loose papers are a number of booklets related to Lincoln, including the programs for the 90th and 91st Anniversaries of the Gettysburg Address (1953 and 1954), a catalog of the Abraham Lincoln Bookshop (n.d., suspect 1965, since all listed books are 1865), "A Man of the Ages," (sermon by Dr. Peter Marshall, 2-11-40, N.Y. Ave. Presby. Church, Washington, DC); "The Lincoln Tradition (Catherine Marshall, 10pp); "Four Days in May: Lincoln Returns to Springfield." (R. Heath, ed. Sangamon Co. Hist. Soc. & Ill. State Hist. Soc. 1965); "Funeral Address Delivered at the Burial of President Lincoln, May 4, 1865" (Rev. Matthew Simpson); more. Photos of the Lincoln Statue in Washington, DC; newspaper clippings including "Many Faces of Lincoln;" blank hotel stationery and envelopes (at least 3 hotels); more. Condition: Musty smell, materials have not been curated kindly.
