Len Hutton. Yorkshire & England 1934-1955. Large black file comprising a good selection of original press photographs, cuttings, letters etc relating to Huttons cricket career. Eight items signed by Hutton. Press photographs include Hutton running off the field at the Oval after clinching victory in the fifth and final Ashes Test of the 1938 series, and a photograph of the scoreboard showing Hutton's record score of 364 achieved in the same match. Others depict Hutton being applauded off the field by the Surrey players at The Oval in 1951 having completed his one hundredth first class century, another being congratulated at the wicket, also Yorkshire team mates congratulating him in the changing room. Also Hutton on board ship with the tour Manager, Geoffrey Howarth and others for England's tour to Australia 1954/55, another with Bob Appleyard and Vic Wilson at St. Pancras station, with Australian Captains, Ian Johnson and Don Bradman, at a dinner in Melbourne, December 1954, and a good official photograph of the 1948 Yorkshire team. Includes a typed letter dated 11th November 1953 to Hutton from Charles Palmer, player-manager of the 1953/54 M.C.C. touring party to West Indies, in which Palmer discusses travel arrangements. Attached is the handwritten reply from Hutton thanking Palmer for the useful 'information regarding Bermuda'. The letter is signed 'Len'. Another handwritten letter from Hutton is dated 5th April 1984 in which he remembers his most memorable innings, against Australia in 1953, making 143 in the first innings. Press masking to some photographs. Overall in good condition
