Title: Les Privilèges de la Vierge, Mère de Dieu Author: Priezac, Daniel de Place: Paris Publisher: Chez P. Rocolet Date: 1650 Description: Vol. II (of 3) only. [12], 413, [3] pp. Title-page with lovely engraving of the Annunciation; two full-page engraved plates (Annunciation and Nativity; headpieces at the beginning of each section, woodcut intials.18x12 cm. (7¼x4¾"), period full red morocco with gilt fillets and fleurons on front and back, decoration at spine and turn-ins, marbled paste-downs, all edges gilt. Second volume of three of the author's work translated as The Privileges of the Virgin Mother of God; Daniel de Priézac (1590-1662) was professor of jurisprudence and conseiller d'État. He was elected to the Académie française in 1639 as a founder member. A handsome copy of the scarce work - OCLC/WorldCat lists no copies. Lot Amendments Condition: A bit of rubbing to extremities, near fine. Item number: 206191
