LESLIE [John, Bishop of Ross] De origine moribus & rebus gestis scotorum ... With 11 engraved genealogical tables with portraits of the Scottish monarchs, contemporary calf, slight paper discolouration throughout, without the map called for on the titlepage as appears to be usually the case, 4to., Rome: in aed. Populi Romanos, 1675 Note: Republication of the first edition issued in Rome in 1578. "The earliest part of the work is an epitome of Major and Boece; the description is, however, to a considerable extent founded on independent observation and information; the latter portion, treating of the period 1436 to 1562 ... is of great value as a catholic account of the events with which the bishop was himself acquainted."
