Copyrighted 1891 by Moses P. Rice, Washington D. C. Printed by A. W. Elson & Company, Boston. "A. Lincoln" signature centered below portrait. Widely published, it is perhaps the best-known full-face portrait of the President. A.W. Elson & Company, Boston (Ca. 1894-1925) was a well-known printing and publishing house at that time. The company was owned by Alfred W. Elson and was based at 146 Oliver Street. Most of their images were historical scenes, portraits and reproductions of artwork.
