Written shortly after his triumphant return to Britain after discovering Victoria Falls, he writes: “Will you kindly forward to this address at your convenience the work of Roles, and the American cotton planters Manual the work of Dr. Royle. I believe one can get it in London. My brother will accompany me when I visit Manchester to get some knowledge of machinery too and I shall be obliged if you can furnish him with a bed as I have an invitation fromn the Mayor.
