Beschreibung:

Lot contains: (A) Silver broach purported to be Eva Braun's by the consignor, with supporting documentation. Broach is marked "STERLING" on the reverse, and on the reverse of the swastika (but is partially obscured). Green enamel adorns both the swastika and the wreath. Barrel hinge, wire pin, and clasp are intact and functional. Reverse has a light bronze colored wash. Light patina overall with light wear throughout. CONDITION: Overall excellent. (B) Silver bracelet purported to be Eva Braun's by the consignor, with supporting documentation. Bracelet consists of nine "STERLING" marked pieces adorned with a swastika in green enamel, and attached to each other by wire loops. A pin with barrel secures the bracelet. Very light wear with patina. CONDITION: Overall excellent. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION: Consignor has provided five pieces of documentation. The primary piece is an affidavit by the individual who brought the items home from WWII. He states he was a former member of the Polish Army and captured by German forces in 1940, and held as a POW until his liberation by US and British forces near the end of the war. He then served as a translator and scout for the US military. He stated that in May 1945 he took these pieces from the ruins of the Reichskanzlei (Reich Chancellery) in Berlin, with some other pieces as well. His affidavit was notarized by the Notary Public of Los Angeles County, CA on February 11, 1975. A letter written in July of 1975 by German, who was a friend of one of Hitler's chauffeur, states that he was in the presence of Eva Braun several times and was told that Irish dignitaries visiting Germany had given this broach and bracelet to her. There are an additional set of documents from "Collector's Gallery" in Torrance, CA from July of 1983 appraising this set, and providing a brief history of them since 1975.
