(Paper toned a bit, a few soilmarks, nicks to blue paper seal.) March 20, 1924. Together, 7 presidential commissions. Nice group of Presidentially signed commissions tracing the career of Frank H. Schofield from entry into the U.S. Navy as an ensign through his rise to rear admiral. Besides his service aboard many ships, he was instumental in developing anti-submarine warfare tactics in World War I, earning the Navy Cross. Following the war, he assisted with the development of the Naval Terms of the German Armistice. In 1930, he was promoted to full Admiral, becoming Commander in Chief, Pacific Battle Force. In 1932, he reverted to his permanent rank of Rear Admiral, and served on the General Board until his 64th birthday in 1933, retiring from the Navy after 47 years of service.
