Single eyelet sling base soldered to bottom of barrel. Barrel signed in gothic script "J. Rigby & Co. London, England. Top of shank marked "SIGHTED FOR / CALIBER / 9.3x62", with British nitro proofs in right side of shank. Mauser 98 action with serial number of left fore ring, and London proof on right side, body marked "MAUSER M98 STANDARD / -Made in Germany-". Factory drilled and tapped for a scope. Ball handle bolt with appropriate London proof. 3-position wing safety. Bottom metal signed with Rigby trademark. Underside of barrel with Nitro proof to muzzle and Mauser import mark behind sling swivel. Prince of Wales pistol grip, with grip and forearm checkered in multipoint wraparound pattern. Sling eyelet along toe line. Stock ends in a black line spacer and soft rubber pad. Attractive deep red, almost cherry, wood stock with a relatively straight grain. CONDITION: Very fine, and likely test fired only. There are some extremely minor marks from handling in a shop but very close to as new throughout. Fire blue on extractor has some minor cycling loss. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with crisp rifling. Accompanied by a Rigby branded case and with Rigby catalog, Rigby SCI invitation, original invoice dated 2018, and test target, dated 10/22/17 at 65 yards with Hornady 296 grain ammo.
