Mahogany inlaid binding, front cover with elaborate inlaying of mother-of-pearl, gilt and precious stones, small central inlaid medallion on the back, leather spine, edges gilt (horizontal crack on front). Provenance : Maria Anna (note on flyleaf); purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 29 September 1958. An extensively inlaid binding. Some of the drawings were done at the Princess's native Dessau; others were executed after her marriage to Prince Friederich Karl Nicolaus of Prussia in November 1954.
