Another plaque from 1901 by Valentien with only a single fish (same size, color and style) was sold in the Glover Collection auction as lot 435. Marks on the back include the Rookwood logo, the date, experimental shape number X 499 AX and Valentien’s initials in black slip. Size is 10 by 14 1/8 inches. Uncrazed. There is a small 1/4 by 3/8 inch chip on the lower right hand corner that is probably factory and is definitely covered by the frame.
