Warren Heckrotte describes the map and its confines: "Shows land grants and sectioned land. Extends north: T 11 E, just beyond the town of Mohave; extends south: T 18 S, to border with Mexico; extends east: R 6 E; extends west: R 19 E. This is with reference to the San Bernardino initial point. All of Los Angeles County is shown and parts of Ventura, Kern, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. A handsome map." In addition, the map shows drainage, township and section lines, ranchos, land ownership, Indian reservations, railroads, etc. There is an index and table of distances from Los Angeles.
