Paris, Nyon, 8vo: xlii[1]-(sm. part of half title, title and last blank cut out and underl.). Contemp. calf (corners bumped and rubbed), gilt orn. spine on 5 raised bands (lower joint splitting, sm. def. at head and tail), red leather title label, marbled endpapers. Rare first edition of this interesting work on ancient sailing vessels by the French architect and archaeologist Le Roy (1724-1803). Ill. with 3 engr. fold. pl. of sails.
