Beschreibung:

.44. caliber. 8" barrel length. SN: 116990. (Mfg. ca.1863) Metal finish displays a brown patina overall with tarnish to brass gripstraps, one-piece walnut grips with cartouches, single-line Colt New York address to barrel, three-screw frame cut for stock. Gripstraps have no extant serial numbers or caliber markings indicating they are replacements. Patent mark to cylinder faintly visible but serial number illegible. Bright metal finish to rear of recoil shield and to backstrap indicates item partially polished at some point. Left side of grip has WHR cartouche of William H. Roberts. Wedge is a modern replacement. Condition: Fair to Good. Bore is dark with patina throughout and light pitting. Barrel retains a brown patina with scattered pitting. Similar dark brown patina to majority of metal components except where polished. Tarnished finish to triggerguard and weakened polished patina to backstrap. Grips show handling wear, rounded edges, chips where they meet frame, weak cartouches. Action times and indexes with loose lockup.
