Drypoint on laid paper with figural shield watermark, plate size 7 x 5 1/2 in. (17.7 x 14.0 cm), framed. Condition: Margins over 1 1/4 inches with three edges deckled, cockling, subtle toning and light-striking, two thinned spots to verso, masking tape residue to upper margin. Provenance: Descended from the sitter to her grandniece Ellen Meigs; gift from Meigs to the family of the present owner. N.B. Margot Lux was from a small village outside of Paris, and was the subject of nearly fifty compositions by Cassatt.
