A sammelband of three separately-published selections from Mayer's Views in Egypt, Palestine and Other Parts of the Ottoman Empire (1801-4; see Abbey Travel 369), with bright plates. This is the first issue of A Selection ... of Views in Turkey; A Selection ... of Views in Egypt first appeared in 1811. 'The plates in these selections are not re-engravings, but plates available from the stock originally printed for Bowyer, with new title-pages. These appear to be the earliest selections of Mayer's plates from the Ottoman dominions' (Atabey).
