Contemporary dark green morocco gilt, g.e. A VERY FINE COPY OF THE OCTAVO EDITION, mixed issue. The cost of the preceding 4° editions and the importance of the work persuaded Meyer to issue this reduced version: making it "the most complete and cheapest History of British Birds ever published" (see preface).
