Beschreibung:

Military Laws of the Confederate States. Published by J.W. Randolph, Richmond, Virginia. 121 Main St. 1863. Printed by Franklin Steam Printing Press, Atlanta, Georgia. Flexible paper wrappers with some loss to grey cover paper. It appears the book's cover wrappers were printed on recycled paper as evidenced by the script underneath the grey cover paper that has worn away. Linen spine. Bears original owner's signature, which appears to be that of Confederate Brigadier General John Creed Moore (1824-1910). (signed three times throughout book). Moore fought in Vicksburg and Shiloh amongst others, and supposedly had his horse shot out from under him three times. After the War he was a professor and educator in Texas. Condition: One small corner of wrapper missing. Some expected toning and foxing throughout text. Otherwise very good condition. Some ink bleed through pages near Moore's signature.
