Lot of 8, featuring composite photograph comprised of individual portraits of several members of the Cleveland Grays, each dressed in formal uniform, 10.75 x 16 in., on 13 x 18.75 in. mount with significant wear to margins, including remnants of adhesive, surface flaking, almost certainly a result of being matted previously. Accompanied by 2.125 x 3.5 in. photograph of one of the members of the Cleveland Grays, which was used in the composite image. Partial loss to reverse side of photograph, but portion of name discernible, "Brokenshire" (?). Three (3) photographs of the same bearded Civil War veteran, including a 3.5 x 5 in. silver gelatin photograph on 6 x 8 in. mount credited to the studio of H.C. Congdon, Lorain, Ohio, showing the aged, bearded man wearing his GAR badge. Accompanied by 6.75 x 9.125 in. silver gelatin photograph of the same bearded man seated beside a young man wearing military uniform, and real photo postcard of four men, one being the bearded Civil War veteran. Horizontal crease through RPPC. Three (3) turn of the 20th century silver gelatin photographs of unidentified men in uniform, including cabinet photo of young soldier, ca Spanish American War-era, wearing US cartridge belt, credited to G.F. Sterling Co., Detroit, MI; silver gelatin photograph, 3.5 x 5.75 in. photograph of soldier posed outside residence; and oval, 2.5 x 3.5 in. photograph of a young soldier, matted, framed, and displayed with 2.5 x 2.5 in. snapshot of young woman, possibly his sweetheart. Light soiling to images. Framed photo not examined outside frame.
