MILITARY UNIFORMS -- GUBAREV, Petr Kirillovich. A collection of prints for a work on the 'Leib-Gvardii Ulanskago polka' [Life-Guards Lancers Regiment]. N.p. [but St. Petersburg]: Literaturnaia Redaktsia Rossiskoi Voennoi Khroniki, n.d. [but c.1850s]. 17 chromolithographs by Konrad after Gubarev (image size c.300 x c.260mm) on wove paper (460 x 340mm), (without title-leaf, light marginal soiling and wear, with the occasional tear, soiling more pronounced in one plate), loose in a contemporary brown half-cloth portfolio with textured-paper covered sides (extremities rubbed, sides scuffed). Provenance : pencilled press-mark on the verso of each leaf. A COLLECTION OF FINE CHROMOLITHOGRAPHS AFTER GUBAREV, illustrating the uniforms of the Life-Guards Uhlan (ie. Lancers) Regiment: primarily the Konstantin Pavlovich and Mikhail Pavlovich guards. RARE: Not in Colas; not in Lipperheide; apparently not in Zaionchkovskii.
