Lot of nine, each on pale yellow square-corner mounts, including two with 1862 copyright lines imprinted on recto and applied paper printed labels from Gardner's Photographic Incidents of the War series, titled No. 466/Ruins Of Old Brick Church, Hampton, Va., The oldest Protestant Church in America and No. 508/Parson Slaughter's House, On Slaughter's( or Cedar) Mount'n, Site of a Confederate Battery. Plus seven views with imprinted 1863 copyright lines and no labels, including: a view of a crowd entering a large church; one of the Lacy House on the banks of the Rappahannock, which functioned as a headquarters for several Union generals and as a hospital after the Battle of Fredericksburg; a view of a farmhouse capturing a rare shot of Gardner's wagon; and four shots of homes showing signs of artillery damage.
