Contropiatto e sguardia posteriori in carta marmorizzata, segnalibro in seta rosa. Tagli rossi. Al recto della carta di guardia anteriore l'annotazione in inchiostro blu 'BM miz'; più antica l'indicazione di prezzo '0:5:', vergata in inchiostro bruno. Il volume comprende due opere - entrambe in rara prima edizione - di Antoine Mizauld (ca. 1510-1578), famoso medico e astrologo al servizio di Margherita di Navarra. Il Secretorum agri Enchiridion è un interessante libro di segreti dedicato in modo specifico a giardini e orti, ricco di notizie sulle virtù delle piante e il loro uso medicinale. Segue il De hortensium arborum insitione opusculum, che illustra la tecnica dell'innesto e include una sezione finale sull'anatomia dell'albero. Entrambe le edizioni furono date alle stampe nel 1560 dal raffinato tipografo parigino Frédéric Morel, e si trovano spesso legate insieme. L'edizione del Secretorum agri Enchiridion è nella tiratura contraddistinta dalla regolare segnatura del primo fascicolo. I. The note in blue ink 'BM miz' on the recto of the front flyleaf, and the earlier price notice '0:5:' in brown ink. The volume contains two works - both offered in the rare first edition - by the famous French physician and astrologer Antoine Mizauld (ca. 1510-1578). The Secretorum agri Enchiridion is a highly interesting Book of Secrets, especially devoted to cultivaton of plants, herbs, flowers and trees, illustrating their medical use. The De hortensium arborum insitione opusculum deals with plant grafting, and includes a final chapter on tree anatomy. Both editions were published by the learned and refined Parisian printer Frédéric Morel. The copy offered here of the Secretorum agri Enchiridion belongs to the issue with the first quire regularly signed. I.
