Molina was a Jesuit who upon expulsion from his order lived the balance of his long life in Bologna and devoted much time to the early history of Chile. This anonymous work has also been attributed to the Abbe Vidaurre and this copy has an early manuscript note on the front blank reading "by Vidaurre."
