LEON SPINKS FIGHT I CONTRACT An important two-page legal size contract for the February 15, 1978, fight between Muhammad Ali and Leon Spinks in Las Vegas in defense of Ali's Heavyweight Championship title. Ali, who had just turned thirty-six and was coming off a difficult fight against hard-hitting Ernie Shavers, was expecting an easy fight against Spinks. The 1976 Olympics Light Heavyweight Gold medalist had only fought seven times professionally, but he was determined and well-conditioned.
