MUHAMMAD BIN SULAYMAN AL-JAZULI (D. 1472 AD): DALA'IL AL-KHAYRAT SIGNED MUHAMMAD 'UTHMAN MIRZA 'ABD AL-RAHMAN HERATI, POSSIBLY DECCAN, INDIA, LATE 18TH CENTURY A prayer book in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, Arabic manuscript on paper, 202ff. as numbered plus ten fly-leaves, each folio with 7ll. of black naskh script in clouds, each line within gold cartouche and with Persian interlinear translation in red nasta'liq script, titles in white thuluth script in gold and polychrome illuminated cartouches, some words picked out in blue, text within blue, black and gold rules, with catchwords and illuminated marginal medallions, four illuminated headpieces, numerous folios with gold and polychrome illuminated margins, with original illustrations of Mecca, Medina and the footprint of the Prophet Muhammad , old repairs throughout, in damaged Kashmiri lacquered binding with floral and calligraphic decoration Folio 16.3 x 10cm.
