MUSIC]. BERLIOZ, HECTOR, 1803-1869. Autograph letter signed ("Hector Berlioz") to the novelist Paul de Musset, Montmartre, 3 June [1830]. 1 page, 8vo, 186 x 120mm. (7 3/8 x 4 3/4 in.), integral address leaf in the composer's hand and bearing original postmarks, in French. A relatively early letter in which the young composer graciously expresses regret that he is unable to accept de Musset's invitation, but hopes soon to have the pleasure which has been denied him and that their acquaintance will continue. Paul de Musset (b. 1804) was the elder brother of the distinguished French writer Alfred de Musset This letter does not appear to be published.
