A fine set of a work normally issued with only 8 of the plates hand-coloured. This copy has an early manuscript title Le Bal de la Noblesse En Quadrille, tel qu'il a eu lieu à Munic, l'hiver de 1827. The first 6 plates depict pairs of costumes representing characters from Scott's Ivanhoe , plates 7-12 of couples in national costume ( Quadrille Hongrais; ...Italien; ...Bédouin; ...Grec; ...Albanais; ...Polonais ), plates 13-14 groups of figures dressed for a Roman carnival.
