Rather rare collection of engravings, complete with plates (numb. 1-+ bis pl.) engraved by or after C. Philips Jacobz, N. Schoute, S. Fokke, J. De Byer, Spilman and others; each plate with an engraved Dutch/French caption. Also contains a map of Amsterdam ("Platte grond"), not mentioned in the index but apparently present in other copies. Splendid accurate and detailed views, most very animated, of various Amsterdam buildings or sites, later known as "Atlas van Fouquet". P. Fouquet (1729-was a Dutch artist and print dealer. The Fouquet Atlas "grew to be one of the most beautiful print series of Amsterdam , showing the city when it was still pure and could boast so many monumental buildings and houses" (Australian National Maritime Museum).
