FIRST EDITION, fine-paper copy, 2 double-page engraved tables, numerous text diagrams, engraved vignette on title, other head- and tailpiece engraved vignettes. Babson/Macomber 207. Newton's first independent treatise on the higher mathematics, containing his discovery of the differential calculus. Provenance : Sion College, contemporary inscription on original endpaper (revealed by window cut in new endpaper) and "SC" initials in imprint line on title -- Harrison D. Horblit, bookplate.
