NICOLAS I PAVLOVICH, TSAR OF RUSSIA (1825-1855). Grant of Nobility and Arms in favour of Sil'vian Iakubovskii, St. Petersburg: 10/22 February 1836. Manuscript on vellum, 4 pages, 2 o (430 x 273mm.), with printed heading with the double-headed eagle and opening address, double column in Russian and Polish with an illuminated coat-of-arms in colours and gilt, signed in Cyrillic 'Nikolai' and countersigned by the Polish minister of the interior. Original purple cloth-backed velvet (slightly rubbed), with tassled cord attached to a parcel-gilt seal case, the upper cover applied with crowned initial N with ribbon-tied leaf and berrry wreath, the base stamped 'Nowakowski Warszawie', in cloth box
