Northrop's M2-F2 was a rocket-powered heavyweight lifting body aircraft that followed in the success of the work on the M2-F1 at Dryden Flight Research Center. Unfortunately, the aircraft is most famous for the May 10, 1967 crash, from which parts of the film footage were used in the introduction of The Six Million Dollar Man television series.
