S. Iosephus is a black and white etching of great technical virtuosity realized by the German artist Philip Andreas Kilian in 1736. Original Title: S. Iosephus Iesu Nutritius. This original print is in good conditions, except for some minor yellowing on the lower margin and some light decoloration of black. Cream-colored cardboard passepartout included. This is a Baroque representation of Saint Joseph, the father of Jesus, recognizable by the well-highlighted tools on the wooden table under construction. A marvelous man, portrayed in a moment of maximum muscular tension (whilst making a table), shows something in himself very close to sanctity. Indeed, an aura is appearing above his head and two angels are assisting him during his work. 16 x 11.5 (foglio), 35 x 25 (image)
