An original signed watercolor and an original ink initialed sketch by Don Freeman American author and illustrator of many books, as well as illustrator for books by others, including William Saroyan's The Human Comedy. The illustration for both is the same (one a smaller version of the other) and is of Mrs. Bumble ordering Mr. Bumble out of the room, pointing, with a furious look on her face. It was used in the 1994 publication of Oliver Twist by Morrow and Company, on page 290. The illustration was created around 1938, originally intended for a centennial edition of Oliver Twist that never came to fruition. The watercolor is a vibrantly colored work.
