Provenance: collection of Duncan C. Dallas, and thence by descent. Dallas was the inventor of the "dallastype" printing technique used to produce close facsimiles of Crane's drawings of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' and 'The Tempest', both produced in limted editions, the former published by George Allen in 1894.
