Signed at lower right. Wonderful evening view of an old Spanish Church. Faintly identified on the rear of the stretcher as "Spanish Church, Rio Grande" and in another location "Rio Lande(?) Valley". Will Sparks (1862-1937) is perhaps best known for his series of paintings of the Missions of California. His works are included in, among others, the collections of the Huntington Library in San Marino and the Crocker Museum in Sacramento. Lot Amendments Condition: Unrestored, a bit soiled, small chip to paint and a small hole in the canvas. Item number: 242539
