PARVILLEE, Lon. Architecture et dcoration turques au XV e sicle , Paris: A. Morel 1874. 2 (443 x 315mm.), half title, 49 lithographed plates, numbered 1-50, including 30 chromolithographs (text and some plates very lightly spotted), contemporary morocco-backed boards, spine lettered in gilt (corners bumped, rubbed). FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed to Baron Edmond de Rothschild by Lon Parvillee on half title. In 1836 Parville "was commissioned by the Ottoman Government to restore certain ruined buildings at Brussa, the first capital of the Ottomans. This work illustrates buildings (plans and details) in Brussa, particularly the Yechil-Djami and the Tomb of Mohammed I. The chromolithographs of the architectural decoration are especially attractive" (Blackmer). Blackmer 1261.
