These paintings were shown in 1949 at Cadmus's third one-man exhibition at Midtown Galleries. This series, now in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, was featured in a solo exhibition of Cadmus's work in 1995, along with other works by the artist from the museum's collection. Hinged to mount at upper left and upper right. Conserved in 1998. Conservation report mounted to the backing. Report reads in part: ". . . mounted to artist's vellum, presumably to reinforce the sheet. Appears to have been mounted after the media were applied. The mounting . . . has caused some undulations in the paper support." Paper is very lightly toned. Irregular edges (more notably at the corners), not impacting the image itself. A repaired diagonal 2 inch tear at right center. Undulations do not appear significant.
