This large, modern canvas by Paul Keene is a scarce example of his early 1950s painting. After his studies at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art (now University of the Arts) from 1939 to 1941, Paul Keene was enrolled at the Académie Julian in Paris from 1949 to 1951.
