New York Landscape watercolor on paper signed l.l. inscription on verso reads: Painted by Mr. Paul Sawyier for my mother as a gift for the use of her meadow at her home in Catskill N.Y. to paint his little landscape pictures. Signed illegibly after inscription 7.25" x 10" Paul Sawyier (American, 1865-1917), a well known Kentucky born impressionist, spent the end of his career in New York, from 1913-1917, painting at a variety of Catskill residences. Provenance: Discovered at an Estate in Upstate New York Condition: Small loss to upper right corner, very minor scratches and losses to inscription on verso, light even toning to paper but watercolor is in very good condition.
